11/27/08 01:50 pm
Still in Florida. Still staying warm and thankful for that!
After the show on Tuesday, Eric and I rented a car and drove from Tampa to Orlando to my cousin Craig's house. He and his wife Cindy treated us to a wonderful dinner at a great Tapas restaurant.
Also found got a call that night from Mr. David Alpert informing me about his WONDERFUL news that he's making his Broadway debut as the 2nd Asst. Director for the revival of GUYS AND DOLLS! How. Freakin'. Awesomely. Cool! Congrats, buddy!
Then yesterday was mine and Eric's adventure into Disney World. Let me tell you something...if you ever doubt that you can do three Disney park and 20 plus attractions within a 14 hour time radius...you'll be surprised that you CAN indeed achieve such feats. And here's how...
We arrived right at 9 AM and did as much as we could before the long lines started forming. After that, we relied heavily on Fast Passes which are GOLD when you have them! Right in the morning we did:
The Pirates of the Caribbean Rolling Thunder Railroad Mountain The Haunted Mansion Splash Mountain (first ride we used our Fast Pass) Small World (still the most frightening thing in the park) Mickey's Philharmagic (A-MAZ-ING) Peter Pan's Flight over Neverland
Then we lunched and hopped a bus over to the Animal Kingdom where we saw FINDING NEMO THE MUSICAL...SO good! The music is great and the puppetry is flippin' impressive!
We were then enticed to wait in a long line (which moved really fast actually) for the new ride: Everest Expedition....SO FUN SO FUN SO FUN! I wish the line were shorted cuz I would do it again in a heart beat!
After the ride we visited the Tree of Life and saw many exotic birds and came across a kangaroo...I've never seen a live kangaroo before so that was cool!
We then hopped a bus to Epcot and got in line for Mission Space which was a very cool experience!
And of course, Eric and I had to have a nice romantic walk through the countries around Epcot. Our favorites were France, America, and England. I thought Japan was really cool too but I don't think it was Eric's favorite.
At this point we were running out of time so we headed back to Magic Kingdom and ate dinner and watched the most perfect firework display over Cinderella's castle. Well after that, a good majority of the guests though Magic Kingdom was closing so they left...but we still had an hour and 45 minutes! So we went off and did more rides which included:
Snow White's ride (Adorable!) The Dumbo ride (had to do it. had to do it.) Space Mountain (which we had a Fast Pass for, Thank God...cuz the line was LONG...) Tomorrow Land Transit Authority Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor (flippin' hilarious!) Stitch's Great Escape (which used to be the frightening Alien Encounter)
Then we slowly strolled by Cinderella's castle, saying our goodbyes to Disney World...but not before buying some fun Disney pins and merchandise! I bought Eric a Jiminy Cricket pin and a Singin' in the Rain pin with Mickey as Gene Kelly on the lamp post. And he bought me a double sided spinning Maleficent pin. He's a good boyfriend, he knows me so well.
And now today, we are feasting wth the cast and Denise's family! It's been a wonderful time and I am thankful for these people I am with! I'm also thankful for all of you and the rest of my friends and family...I've missed so many people lately and I just hope you all know that I think about you guys often. So Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! Eat a lot and be happy!
Much Love, Pres
11/24/08 10:08 pm
So the tour is finally in Florida where the weather is bearable without a jacket, thank the Lord! We've had some good shows here in the Sunshine State, and after tomorrow is Thanksgiving vacation!
Thanksgiving Vacation Schedule TUESDAY: Drive to Orlando in rented car/Visit cousins
WEDNESDAY: Disney World with Eric and his friend Lisa...who works there...which means FREE FUN! THANK YOU LISA!
THURSDAY: Thanksgiving Dinner with the cast and Denise's (who plays Gertrude McFuzz) family!
FRIDAY: Busch Gardens with the cast!
So these next few days I am CLEARLY looking forward to immensely!
And then after this week we really only have two weeks left of tour before we are back in NYC! We'll be back on Dec. 14 and I hope I can see as many of my NYC friends as I can before I head home to Chicago for Christmas!
Then going to Eric's home in Albion, NY to be with him and his family for New Years!
And then its back to NYC to be an unemployed actor...wah wah...but hey its been a good year with Seussical and I am ready to move on and get back into auditions again.
So looking back since I've moved to NYC I'm pretty happy about how life is turning out right now...can't wait to see how the rest of life is gonna turn out.
I'm enjoying this waft of optimism right now :-) I better remember this feeling for those harder days.
Much love to you all!
11/6/08 10:51 pm
I'm in my hotel room in Portsmouth, VA watching AFV with Eric and Denise...and because we are watching AFV I am of course missing David and Lindsay. And then I started thinking...
Where was I when Obama made his historic speech? Where was I when our nation took a historic step to a better future? Where was I while I had friends celebrating in Times Square in New York? AND in Grant Park in Chicago?
Where was I?
I was in a hotel room in Winston-Salem, NC watching CNN.
Do I even have to express how jealous I am of all of you who actually witnessed his speech LIVE?!
I am thrilled Obama won! My favorite thing EVER was when the final polls closed on the West Coast we shoot immediately to "Breaking News" and announcing Obama's victory!
Remember in the year 2000 when it took nearly two months to announce our countries worst mistake of a President...and now it took us less than two seconds to announce maybe the greatest thing to happen in years?
I have never felt so much hope for our future as a nation! I have never felt such pride in my generation for overwhelming the polls!
Here's to the journey ahead of us for a brighter future.
10/25/08 06:15 pm
UP: I love being on tour with my boyfriend.
DOWN: I got really sick the past couple days and was very vomit-happy.
UP: Eric took SUCH good care of me and I'm all better.
DOWN: I got screwed again and lost any kind of sublet while I'm on tour. I'm going to be saving very little money from this tour.
UP: I'm pretty positive I'll have enough money for after tour to give me a solid month or two to audition and find a survival job.
DOWN: Even though I hope my friends can always find trust in me, I've been struggling with who I can really trust lately. I feel like I get taken advantage of a lot. And it sucks when you have to think about who you can really trust.
UP: Despite my occasional frustration with my friends I still love 'em. Even if they never call you back.
DOWN: Even though I know who I am voting for, I'm still not all together satisfied with EITHER candidate.
UP: I don't think anyone will ever be 100% satisfied with a Presidential Candidate.
DOWN: I'm scared I won't get work for a long time after SEUSSICAL is over come December.
UP: I'm determined and won't give up on my career. I'm going to be taking the steps needed to further my career. It's just a scary career...they weren't lying folks.
DOWN: I won't get to spend Christmas with Eric.
UP: But I'll get to spend Thanksgiving with him! And probably New Years! 2 out of 3 ain't bad.
Okay, that's all I got for now.
Hope you're all well!
10/16/08 11:25 pm
Haven't updated in FOREVER. My apologies. Does anyone even read my journal anymore? LoL! I feel like I used to update so much and I just don't really anymore. I'm sorry. I still LOVE reading about all of the exciting things happening in your lives...makes me miss you all! I really do. I love being on tour but I miss having you all in my life on a consistent basis. Ah well.
Tour is going really great! We've had great audiences, great performances, and lots of fun times! We've been in Texas for a while now but we've also explored the adventurous states of Oklahoma, Illinois, and West Virginia. Up next is Louisiana, North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida! Woo Hoo!
David, I'm really glad your concert went well! I still wish I could have been there but you know I was in spirit!
Faiz, I'm excited you're gonna move into my apartment! You're awesome!
Topher, I'm really excited your gonna be my roommate AGAIN come January!
Okay, I need to go shower and get to bed...early shows tomorrow sooo I need some sleep.
I miss you all and I hope you're doing great! Love and hugs!

1) Let me start this entry with a little geekdom. Today, the second season of HEROES comes out on DVD and I can't wait to get mine in the mail! I pre-ordered it through Amazon.com so hopefully it'll come today (fingers crossed).
2) Saw a LOT of theatre this past week... *THE GRECIAN FORMULA...this was a Fringe Festival show...I saw this with Rob and had a good time...the entire cast was hysterical but the script itself was rather week. It was spoofing ancient greek theatre and today's Broadway scene...it was funny, but I don't think it will have much of a life beyond the Fringe.
*AN AMERICAN FAMILY...this was Mr. David Alpert's directorial debut in NYC :-) SO proud of him! Basically, the gist to this production was the writers had two days to write a 20 minute musical, the director and cast had 3 days to rehearse it, and then they had 2 days to perform it. Sounds like a CRAZY week! But it was a success! I really hope the writers expand upon the characters and story beyond 20 minutes because I think it has potential. And I hope they take David with them!
*BOEING BOEING...my sister, Christy, came into town and I had already seen this play and I knew she would LOVE IT. And she did! And I loved it a second time...if you like sex farces this is the play to see!
*AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY...saw it a second time and brought my sister...it was really good the second time around but I do miss the original cast. Estelle Parsons is fantastic, but like I said: I miss the original cast. Amy Morton is still a part of the production and she still is giving a performance to be reckoned with!
*HAIR...yup, I got to see HAIR in Central Park. It was my first time seeing a live production of HAIR, I had only ever seen the movie before hand. I enjoyed the show but I am not obsessively in love with it. The actor playing Berger was my favorite, he gave the strongest performance I think. And I've come to love the Twyla Tharp choreography in the film and I missed it here...there wasn't a whole lot of choreography anyway. Oh well. You should still go see it...because its HAIR in Central Park, its an experience to be had!
Honestly, the most fun I've had this past week though was waiting in line to see Hair. My friend, John, and I got to to the Delacorte Theatre at 7:30 AM to wait in line and we were towards the back! There were a lot of people there, we were about 340th in line (John counted). But we were in a nice shaded area, and it was a beautiful day...we had snacks, What If books, cards, and a blanket. We had fun! If you get in line, go prepared!
While my sister was in town, she took me to dinner with one of her high school friends, Michael. He has maybe the nicest apartment I have ever seen in New York. There's art EVERYWHERE, they have a back patio garden (where we ate the most amazing dinner). After Christy left NYC, he invited me to a dinner party at his place...I went of course and got to meet Lillian Vernon...she created the first catalog America has ever known...so that was pretty cool getting to hear about her life.
And now we're pretty caught up with whats been happening...Beau and Paul have moved to NYC as of yesterday! Got to see them and I think I am seeing them later on today. It makes me happy that more WMU alums are moving out here.
Eric gets here in TWO DAYS and I cannot wait! We go into rehearsal for SEUSSICAL next week and I can't wait for that either! Though I'm really going to enjoy having a few days playing in New York City with my honey! Haven't seen him in about three weeks (which I realize is practically nothing but I still miss him!)
Okay, I think I've blabbed enough for one morning.

Tonight I had yet another reality check on how fragile and precious life is.
I was getting off my subway stop at Astoria Blvd. and as I am walking on the bridge over the intersection I suddenly hear what sounded like a very loud crack. I shift my attention below me to one car skidding across the intersection and then catch the other car finishing its second flip in the air. How does that happen?
I immediately dial 911 and talk to the operator. After that I run down the stairs to the street to see if I can help the trapped passengers along with a number of other people running to do something. I'm not sure if the driver survived because there was not much left of the driver side. There really was not much anyone could do until police and firemen arrived which, thank God, they got there fast.
I couldn't stop thinking "Thank God its none of my friends. Thank God its no one in my family. Thank God my sister (who is visiting and its her birthday) doesn't have to see this," (she's staying with a friend tonight).
I wanted to write this down so on those days I look back on my journal and see this, I'll remind myself to never take any of my friends or family for granted, or even take my life for granted. Because within the next few hours phone calls are going to be made to friends and family members about their loved ones in this accident...and its not fair to those people, its not fair to the victims involved in this accident...and life may not be fair but that doesn't mean anyone deserves any of it. And I am thankful that none of you were involved.
I have been asleep in this world for far too long.

Dear ones,
I've been back in New York for about two and a half days and I've already spent a lot of money. Whoops. But I bought an awesome new bag (for tour) and I needed new black shoes. And I've been eating out a lot because of social events (Katie's birthday, coffee with people i had to catch up with, etc.)...so now I just need to go grocery shopping and eat in for a long while.
We start rehearsals in three weeks and I cannot wait! And it'll be nice to have a steady income again...at least for a while. And my friend Emily is coming out on tour with us as Mrs.Mayor and I'm really excited about that! She did the Fall '07 tour and understudied for a week this past spring and she's pretty awesome! It'll be fun to work with her again.
On a completely random topic change, Eric had his wisdom teeth pulled this morning so I've been a little worry wart. Not that I really need to be, though, I've had the surgery myself and it isn't bad at all. And I know he's ok cuz I got a text from him saying it went fine ("a lot of gauze and ice" he says) but I just hope he's not in any pain.
As to me...I'm fine. Life is good. I've been doing a great work out thats tightening up my tummy (which i needed) and I'm feeling good about myself. I mean, its on and off, good days and bad days but thats pretty typical for everoyne I think. I'm trying to work on being less negative towards myself, my talent and abilities, and my image. So I'm trying to be pro-active about it...working out regularly and complaining less and doing something to make myself feel better. LoL Easier said than done, right?
So I'm gonna go do that. Right now.
Until later...

Hello friends!
Still traveling and seeing family, friends, and much of America!
Last time I updated, I was in Green Bay, WI. Visited the Grandma and the Mother.
Took a car ferry over night across Lake Michigan...its like a cruise...only not so classy. And you get to bring your car.
Visited friends at Mason Street Warehouse in Saugatuck (got to see AS BEES IN HONEY DROWN...sooo good...Douglas Carter Beane, I bow to your brilliance). I then had a wonderful time visiting friends in Kalamazoo. Good times! So good to see you all who came to Burdicks :-)
After that, I drove down to Clarksville, IN/Louisville, KY...aka Kentuckiana...wtf?! Anyhoo...spent 5 wonderful days with Eric! Saw his show at Derby Dinner Playhouse, Beauty and the Beast (it was fantastic...I got a super talented boyfriend, folks)...
So...where am I now? Denver, CO. My sister, Christy, and I drove from Chicago to Denver...only took about 15 hours...but we got here safe and sound. I've got all my sisters with me...Debbie lives here and I love playing with her 6 month old son, Aiden...LOVE HIM LOVE HIM LOVE HIM! Being an uncle rules...and my other sister, Cory, is here too! It's been a great trip so far!
So we'll see what happens the next few days. We're spending the day in the Rocky Mountains tomorrow. That should be fun!
More adventures to ensue! Hope you're all well!!!

This was the sweetest thing... I just received this e-mail in my inbox on MySpace:
Dear Mr. Seymour,
I am an eighteen-year-old aspiring actor who will be portraying The Cat in the Hat in a production of Seussical the Musical this coming month in Birmingham, AL.
To my understanding, you are currently playing this role in the TheatreWorksUSA tour. I am beginning to develop some doubts about my portrayal of the Cat, and was wondering if you would be able to give me some advice on the playing of this role.
If you’d be willing to give me some advice, please e-mail me and I’ll send you some questions I have.
Thank you for your time. I look forward to hearing from you!
Sincerely, David
That just touches my heart...Now I just hope I can be helpful LoL

Hello friends!
My July trip continues to be a success...here's whats up...
Flew into Chicago on Monday (sorry I haven't called ANYONE...its been a week dedicated to family and wedding plans..and cleaning out the garage for my dad...)
Thursday my dad threw a huge party at Harry Carry's restaurant downtown and I had maybe the best Fillet Mignon of my life! It was great catching up with family I have not seen in a few years. My cousin is becoming a priest and got to hold the book the Pope read from while he visited Yankee Stadium...that was a cool story to hear about!
My nephews (Cayden and Aiden...yes I know) are continuing to grow and getting cuter by the moment! Pictures to come soon!
Friday was the wedding...the only thing I will never understand is why would anyone want to have their wedding at a downtown Chicago church at 4 PM on a Friday...hardcore rush hour time! Oy! And here's the stress activator story...
It was a Catholic wedding...my stepmother, Paddy, has a bottle of holy water blessed by the Pope (he keeps coming up in this entry, hmmm) which the priest marrying my brother and his new wife would use to bless the wedding rings...well, my parents got a hotel room down town near the church the night before the wedding and OF COURSE my stepmother forgets the holy water. Since I stayed in the northern burbs, guess whose job it was to bring the holy water. In rush hour. On a friday afternoon. Not. Fun.
The wedding was at 4 PM. I got to the church at 3:56. I left my house at 2:30.
But I made it, the wedding was beautiful (pictures to come soon) and the reception was so fun!
Now I'm in Green Bay, WI visiting my mom and grandma. We had dinner last night at Brett Favre's restaurant...between the sports related restaurants and the religious figures being mentioned in this entry I'm beginning to feel like I'm losing my identity LOL.
Monday night I'll be taking a ferry across Lake Michigan to visit all of my friends in Saugatuck and Kalamazoo! Sooo if you're in the Michigan area and have Wednesday night free you should come to Kalamazoo (if you're not already there) and come have a drink with me at Burdicks! :-)
And the count down continues...only 4 more days before I get to see Eric!
Things with him are going great...we just haven't seen each other for weeks and we're both agreed that we are tired of waiting! UGH! Soon though :-) This has been kind of hard since our relationship has been becoming more serious...but only four more days...I think I can handle it. And after that, there won't be much time apart so thats good news :-)
Well...thats all I got for now...I hope you're all doing wonderfully...I'm gonna go make breakfast!
